One if by Land

The current political climate is divisive and violent, and no, I don’t mean the riots and such. I mean the total lack of unity and pride in making our nation the best. What used to be an orderly talk if not debate  on current issues has become a free-for-all of problems and mud flinging. People have been boiled down to a catalog of issues, and one of the most crucial is the right to bear arms. Back 30 years ago, we knew our enemy, the Red Menace of the cold war. A foreboding unknowable boogeyman lay in wait to pounce if we rested on laurels. These days, our enemies are named, armed, and poised to strike just the same. Only, now, we’ve become our own enemies, and the lull has caused us to forget why we stand to firmly grasp our arms. We stand at the precipice of a self made war, and the only tools we have to protect us are at risk. Ladies and Gentlemen, we are not meant to be paranoid, but we must be vigilant, for our next great enemy is not coming by sea, but by the land you walk every day.
